Website Chair

PSI Role

My role is to serve as Chair of the Website Committee. This role includes working with the website committee to monitor the website to ensure that it is current, user friendly, and supportive. This includes reviewing and approving all new updates and additions to the website. The website committee also reviews the content, appearance, functionality, and general appeal of the website and recommends upgrades or revisions to the Board of Directors.

BIO:

I am the CEO at MediSpin Inc., a medical communications company that specializes in Web-based training and education. I was introduced to PSI while MediSpin was developing MedEdPPD.org, a professional education, peer-reviewed (the majority are PSI members) website developed with the support of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). This site has two objectives: first, to further the education of primary care providers (pediatricians, family physicians, obstetricians, psychiatrists, nurses, physician's assistants, nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, social workers) who treat women who have or are at risk for postpartum depression; and second, to provide information for women with PPD and their friends and family members. I quickly realized the importance of PSI's role in promoting awareness, prevention, and treatment of mental health issues related to childbearing. I felt a need to offer any assistance that I could and became a PSI member in 2008.

I have over twenty years' experience in medical communications and medical education. Prior to founding MediSpin in June 1999, I worked for several medical communications companies in an account executive/management capacity. Responsibilities included oversight of development of audio programs; publications; CD-ROMs; DVDs; design and management of medical information websites; and over 750 CME symposia addressing infectious disease, cardiovascular medicine, Alzheimer's disease, ADHD, oncology, urology, pain management, women's and men's health, managed care, medical legal, and depression issues.
