Diana Lynn Barnes, Psy.D, PMH-C is a psychotherapist in private practice in Woodland Hills, CA who specializes in the assessment and treatment of perinatal mood disorders. She is a frequently interviewed trainer and presenter on this topic. Dr. Barnes is a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists as well as the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapist and a Fellow of the American Psychotherapy Association.

She co-authored a paper on PTSD in Pregnancy, with Dr. Cheryl Beck which was published in the Annals of the Psychotherapy Association (summer, 2006). She also completed a paper on Postpartum depression: it’s impact on couples and marital satisfaction published in “The Journal of Systemic Therapies.”

In 2005, she wrote the forward for Eyes without Sparkle by Elaine Hanzak and has completed her own book with co-author Leigh Balber called Journey to Parenthood: Myths, Reality and What Really Matters,published by Radcliffe. She was the president of Postpartum Support International from 2002-2004 and currently sits on the PSI President’s Advisory Council.
