Sharon Gerdes is an author and Certified Food Scientist who has managed her own consulting firm for the past fifteen years. On behalf of Dairy Management Inc and the U.S. Dairy Export Council she developed strategic partnerships with major multinational corporations to assist them in developing new foods that contain dairy ingredients. She has written two books, three monographs, and more than 60 articles for various food industry publications, including her quarterly “Dairy Detective” column for Dairy Foods magazine. She participated in numerous media interviews for the dairy industry and is a Food Science Communicator for the Institute of Food Technologists. She has published her first novel, Back In Six Weeks, about a young mother’s struggle to recover from postpartum psychosis.
Sharon previously directed Child Care Nutrition Programs and the Senior Nutrition Programs in local communities, and worked as a food and flavor technologist with various companies. She enjoys hiking, bicycling, and golf. She has a B.S. in Foods and Nutrition from Kansas State University.Return to List
