This comprehensive perinatal loss training is for birth workers, therapists, nurses, and other psychotherapy and medical providers. This course takes you into the world of perinatal loss, inclusive of miscarriage, stillbirth, complex congenital anomalies, and pregnancy decision-making.
Participants will explore trauma-informed strategies, clinical techniques, and practical interventions to support bereaved parents, families, and providers impacted by loss.
Due to the sensitive nature of the subject matter, we kindly ask that you do not bring babies or children to this training.

Completion Requirements: Attendees must attend the full training to receive continuing education credits and a certificate of completion.
Continuing Education Credits
- Physician CMEs: The AAFP has reviewed Perinatal Loss: Clinical and Supportive Care Advanced Training and deemed it acceptable for up to 12.00 Live AAFP Prescribed credits. Term of Approval is from 10/27/2025 to 10/27/2026. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. AMA/AAFP Equivalency: AAFP Prescribed credit is accepted by the American Medical Association as equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ toward the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. When applying for the AMA PRA, Prescribed credit earned must be reported as Prescribed, not as Category 1. These CMEs can be applied by Nurse Midwives and Advanced-practice Nurses.
- Nurses: approved for 13.5 hours. This nursing continuing professional development activity was approved by Oregon Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Approval valid through 2/25/2027. OCEAN ID #2025-17
- Psychologists: 13.5 hours. Postpartum Support International (PSI) is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Postpartum Support International (PSI) maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
- New York State Psychologists: Postpartum Support International (PSI) is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Psychology as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed psychologists PSY 0298. 13.5 hrs
- Social Workers: Postpartum Support International, #2361, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 4/11/2025 – 4/11/2026. Social workers completing this course receive 13.5 clinical continuing education credits.
- New York State Social Workers: Postpartum Support International co-sponsors this program with Seleni Psychology Counseling and Support, PLLC, who is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Social Work as an approved sponsor of continuing education for licensed social workers (#SW-0477). 13.5 hrs
- Counselors: 13.5 hours. Postpartum Support International has been approved by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6765. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Postpartum Support International is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
- Occupational Therapists: 13.5 hours. PSI is an approved provider of CEUs by American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), Provider #11342. The assignment of AOTA CEUs does not imply endorsement of specific course content, products, or clinical procedures by AOTA or indicate AOTA approval of a certification or other professional recognition.
- Additional Information: The fee for continuing education certification is included in the registration fee. Continuing education certificates will be emailed approximately three weeks after the training event. Candidates for continuing education certification must document their time at the event by signing in and out for the event. There are no activities (other than lunch and breaks) within the course that are not offered for continuing education credit.
