Lisette Lopez-Rose

Staff
English-Language Support Groups Program Assistant Manager
Lisette became a first-time mother during the COVID-19 pandemic and faced many new challenges. After suffering with undiagnosed postpartum depression and anxiety for 6 months, Lisette found much-needed support through the various support groups offered at PSI. She also found her therapist through PSI and encouraged her husband to attend the monthly dads support group which he now volunteers to facilitate once a month. During her recovery she always knew she wanted to give back to PSI, the organization that saved her and her family. Lisette is a perinatal mental health advocate on social media and wants to participate in normalizing the conversation of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. Parenting is hard but it does not have to be hard by sacrificing yourself.
Lisette used to work in veterinary medicine before motherhood but now is interested in advocating for perinatal mental health. She hopes to be a source of inspiration and provide support for parents experiencing PMADs. She is living proof that it does get better with help, your village can be virtual, and motherhood is not meant to be perfect. Lisette lives in the SF Bay Area, CA with her 1 year old daughter Sybil, husband Chris and their two cats Calley and Izzy. In her spare time she loves to watch classic TCM movies, cook (uninterrupted) and bake yummy recipes she finds online.
