R. Featherstone

Advisory Council

R. Featherstone (they/them) has had a colorful career in healthcare, which began in 2005 as an Emergency Medical Technician.  They have since had experiences spanning labor and delivery, behavioral health, sexual health, eating disorders, and psychedelic medicine. After starting their graduate training as a nurse-midwife, they then pivoted to becoming a nurse practitioner in sexual and reproductive health.  Two years later, they completed a program in psychiatry, so that they would be able to offer as wide a variety of tools as possible to support the mental health of their patients, from medications to talk therapy.

Featherstone’s lived experience with mental health challenges related to birth and postpartum, as well as eating disorders and membership in the LGBTQ+ community inform their care at Eucalyptus Health, their private telehealth practice in Idaho and Virginia.  They also serve as the organizer for the local perinatal mental health coalition, and are active with many professional organizations involved with parents, mental health, and sexuality.
